Overview

The VRX system image is the operating system for the VRX Ground Unit: a Linux 5.4 kernel, an Ubuntu 20 root file system, and firmware for the other processors on board. It is a separate image from the VOXL 2 and VOXL 2 Mini system image.

The system image ships inside VRX SDK releases (ubun2.0-multi_SDK_x.y.z.tar.gz) and is flashed as part of the SDK install, see the SDK flashing instructions. It is not distributed separately. Get the VRX SDK from the Downloads page.

Changes:

  • ath10k firmware update for the Gen 1.5 VRX WiFi card: opt-in 5/10 MHz narrowband firmware; leaving 5/10 MHz takes a full reset
  • ath10k-ct driver: width changes on the same frequency, a fix for starting cold at a narrow width, and OFDM and 5/10 MHz on channel 14 (2484 MHz)
  • ath10k-ct driver: spectral scan support for the Gen 1.5 VRX
  • Display writeback (SDE WB) enabled
