VOXL 2 IO
VOXL 2 IO adds PWM output along with an S.Bus radio connection to VOXL 2 or VOXL 2 mini.
Starting in VOXL SDK 1.1.1, VOXL 2 IO is being updated as follows:
- new bootloader based on same bootloader as VOXL ESC (requires in field update, or request replacement by sending in existing hardware)
- new firmware based on same firmware as VOXL ESC
- new
voxl-px4drivervoxl2-io- for upgrade instructions, see the firmware guide
VOXL 2 IO is meant to be paired with VOXL 2 and adds PWM output along with an S.Bus radio connection. Spektrum receivers connect directly to VOXL 2 instead, not through VOXL 2 IO. It communicates over UART to VOXL 2 running PX4.
VOXL 2 IO also works with VOXL 2 Mini by connecting the IO board’s J4 host UART to one of the UARTs on the VOXL 2 Mini J19 connector. The VOXL 2 Mini exposes only three UARTs on J19 (ESC, RC, and GNSS), so one of them has to be given up. The PWM outputs are mainly intended for vehicles that use PWM ESCs instead of a ModalAI UART ESC; in that case connect VOXL 2 IO to the ESC UART. To use VOXL 2 IO together with a ModalAI UART ESC, choose between the RC UART and the GNSS UART.
