M0153 MIPI Boson Image Sensor Adapter
M0153 vs M0201
ℹ️ M0201 and M0153 are electrically identical. M0201 is a mechanical change for a slightly better mounting fit to the rear of the Boson+
Boson+ USB Setup Requirement
The Boson+ must first be configured over USB using the FLIR Boson+ Application v4.2
.
NOTE: we have not had success with newer versions of the FLIR Boson+ application, e.g. 4.6 didn’t work
You need to purchase the Boson+ and USB backback seperately.
VOXL SDK Requirements
VOXL SDK 1.4.3+ is required. Only 30 FPS is supported (not 60FPS) in this release.

VOXL2 Connection Options (Boson as the only camera per VOXL2 camera port)
- use either M0162 or M0181 camera adapter, in both cases, use VOXL2 Kernel variant 0
[Boson] + [M0201] + [coax cable] + [M0162] -> [VOXL2 J6/7/8]
(showing Boson connected to VOXL2 J7 using M0153 + M0162)
[Boson] + [M0201] + [coax cable] + [M0181 J1] -> [VOXL2 J6/7/8]
❗If M0181 is used, Boson MUST be connected to M0181 J1 (not J2), as shown below
- Mounting hole in the tab of M0181 will line up with VOXL2 mounting hole only if VOXL2 J8 camera port is used. Note that two coax cables are shown connected to M0181, disregard the second cable for this example, plugged into M0181 J2)
- If connecting second camera to M0181 (J2), only VOXL2 J7 is currently compatible (kernel variant 0). Please note that the mounting holes of M0181 will not line up with mounting holes of VOXL2 in this case.
VOXL2 Mini Connection Options
[Boson] + [M0201] + [coax cable] + [M0162] -> [VOXL2 Mini J6/7]
[Boson] + [M0201] + [coax cable] + [M0194 J1L] -> [VOXL2 Mini J6/7]
[Boson] + [M0201] + [coax cable] + [M0181 J1] -> [VOXL2 Mini J6/7]
- if M0181 is plugged into VOXL2 Mini J6, mounting hole in M0181 does not line up with mounting hole of VOXL2 Mini
- If M0181 is plugged into VOXL2 Mini J7, tab can be removed from M0181 and the mounting holes of M0181 and VOXL2 Mini will line up
Hardware Connection
- Boson sensor supported on VOXL2 J8 using camera configs C37 or C47
- Boson sensor supported on VOXL2 Mini J7 using camera configs C51 or C52
